“I fled the war in Sudan in 2016. It was not safe for me to live there anymore with all the violence that was happening.
When I came to Gloucester I found myself homeless. After a short period of time living in NASS (National Asylum Support Service) accommodation and spent my time sofa surfing before moving to St Michael’s House.
Living here has been very good for me. I feel safe now and can focus on making a good life for myself here in the UK. I have joined a local Football team, started an English course and am due to begin volunteering at a centre for people with special needs. My dream is to have my own painting and decorating business.”
