What We Do

At Cherry Blossom Pre School, we are dedicated to nurturing the early development of children aged 9 months-4 years. Our Pre School operates during term time, offering a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. We follow a child-led approach to learning, ensuring that each child’s unique needs and interests are at the heart of our activities.

In June 2025, we were thrilled to receive recognition from the Department for Education and Gloucestershire County Council Early Years Service, for our services to enhance inclusive practice for children. We were assessed on a number of factors, including our parent partnership, inclusive environment, and support for children with SEND.

Our Pre School parents think highly of us too!

“We would like to say a massive thank you to all of the lovely ladies at Cherry Blossom Pre School you are all amazing and thank you for being you and taking care of our babies. I can’t praise just one of you, each and every one of you always have a smile on your face and very friendly. Our little girl absolutely loves coming to Pre School and when I ask her what was her favourite thing about Pre School she says hugging my teacher and playing with my teachers.” – Pre School Parent

Our bespoke Early Years Curriculum is designed to provide high-quality education and care, fostering a love for learning in a safe and supportive setting. With fully accessible facilities, including two classrooms, a dining hall, secure outdoor spaces, and a nature garden, we create an environment where children feel valued and encouraged to explore.

We also offer flexible session times, with morning, afternoon, and all-day options available from Monday to Friday. As part of our commitment to accessibility, we accommodate specific dietary requirements and provide necessary facilities for nappy changing and toileting, ensuring that every child’s needs are met.

“I was pregnant with my boy when my mum passed away. He was my comfort, my world. I was so worried about him going to Pre School he had never been away from me before. But Cherry Blossom were amazing. They were so reassuring and comforting. Also very patient with him. He really enjoyed going and after only 2 weeks he was running in. I’m so glad I took the leap its been amazing for my boy and us as a family, thank you”  – Pre School Parent

Our curriculum is designed to be interesting, engaging, ambitious, and inclusive, fostering inquisitive, curious, and independent learners with a lifelong love of learning. It is built upon the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and incorporates all seven areas of learning, ensuring challenging and playful learning opportunities across both prime and specific areas of learning.

Our curriculum is underpinned by six pillars of learning:

  • Mind: Encouraging children to explore thoughts, feelings, emotions, and ideas.
  • Body: Promoting healthy physical development and respect for others’ bodies.
  • Spirit: Connecting children to themselves, others, and the world, fostering a sense of belonging and community.
  • Belong: Creating a home-like environment where children feel safe and valued.
  • Contribute: Encouraging children to understand that their voice and actions matter, promoting resilience.
  • Thrive: Supporting each child’s unique way of flourishing with the help of staff and peers.

We provide a rich experience that meets the unique needs of all children, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and those who may be disadvantaged. Our curriculum is tailored to ensure all children can access learning opportunities.

Children participate in a variety of activities that support their development in areas such as communication, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development. Activities include sensory play, art and creativity, STEM projects, role play, music, and movement.
