Volunteers Week

Volunteers Week

On Volunteer Recognition Day, YMCA England & Wales proudly celebrates the selfless individuals whose dedication and compassion form the backbone of our community initiatives.

On average, YMCA volunteers contribute 22,844 hours each week to support our work. Volunteer recognition day, which took place 20 April, is an important opportunity to reflect the powerful impact volunteers have at YMCA, and their local communities.

To mark our #VRD2025, we are celebrating some of the wonderful volunteers who give their time each and every week to support those in need.

Alison supports the work of Feed Cheltenham. She drives our refrigerated van to collect and distribute donated milk from Tewkesbury to the community pantries in Cheltenham.

It is so good to play a small part in the work of YMCA Cheltenham and to really see that local people are being helped to live better lives.” She shared.

This year, Pete is celebrating 25 years of volunteering with us. He always comes in with a smile and is brilliant at supporting children and their parents.
