Supporting Families Facing Food Insecurity in Cheltenham

No one should have to choose between feeding their family or keeping warm.

Feed Cheltenham exists to ensure that local people facing financial hardship can access the food and support they need. In partnership with a network of community food pantries and frontline organisations, we provide vital help to those experiencing food insecurity across Cheltenham.

Together, we are building a more supportive community—where dignity, compassion and care are at the heart of everything we do.

What We Do

  • Food vouchers: We offer vouchers to families and individuals referred by trusted local partners, helping them access fresh, nutritious food.

  • Community partnerships: We work closely with food providers, faith groups, schools and charities to respond swiftly and collaboratively to local need.

  • Ongoing fundraising: Through generous community donations and funding appeals, we’re able to offer consistent support throughout the year.

Why It Matters

The rising cost of living has left many families in our community struggling to make ends meet. With energy bills increasing and incomes under pressure, food insecurity is becoming more common—but together, we can help ease that burden.

Feed Cheltenham is a local response to a national issue, rooted in YMCA’s belief that every family should have the support they need to lead a more fulfilling life.

Get Involved

If you’d like to support Feed Cheltenham, you can:

  • Donate: Your contribution helps put food on a family’s table.

  • Fundraise: Organise a local event, school collection or workplace initiative.

  • Partner with us: Organisations can help distribute vouchers or host food donation points.

Let’s stand together so no one goes hungry.

People are struggling, mental health challenges are increasing, many people’s savings were lost through COVID and their safety nets have disappeared. People are now in a financial situation that they never thought they would be in. We cannot get people’s budgets to balance and sometimes, even when sticking with minimum outgoings, they cannot maintain a sustainable financial position.”
