Opened by HRH The Princess Royal in 2015, Williams House stands at the heart of Cheltenham as YMCA’s flagship £4.1 million supported accommodation project. This modern, purpose-built facility was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Homes & Communities Agency, national and local trusts, and the dedication of YMCA staff, supporters and volunteers.
Home to 73 residents aged 16 and over, Williams House provides a safe and welcoming environment for individuals with a range of needs – from mental health issues, substance misuse and complex circumstances, to those on a journey toward independent living. Each resident benefits from 24-hour staffing and tailored, high-level support from our experienced Housing Team. Our staff provide residents with support and advice on wellbeing, personal development, and tenancy readiness.
The building offers a range of high-quality accommodation options, including ensuite rooms and self-contained flats. All ground floor spaces are wheelchair accessible and adapted for individuals with physical disabilities. Communal kitchens and social spaces on each floor promote a sense of community and shared living.
Williams House delivers a comprehensive model of support:
This integrated approach ensures that every resident receives the right support at the right time, with dignity, compassion, and a clear path toward independence.

Steeped in history and purpose, Number 6, Vittoria Walk is home to YMCA Cheltenham’s central operations and a key site within our accommodation pathway. Originally a Cheltenham Ladies’ College boarding house, this elegant Regency building became the charity’s headquarters in 1956, and has since grown into a multi-functional hub supporting young people and adults alike.
Alongside its role as a base for our leadership, central and housing teams, 6 Vittoria Walk provides 13 beautifully refurbished ensuite bedrooms to those residents who are progressing through our PATHWAY HOME model but may still need guidance and reassurance. Our Housing Support Workers are available to offer medium-level support as and when it is needed.
Surrounded by green space and equipped with key amenities, this site represents the enduring spirit of YMCA Cheltenham, where community, care, and Christian values remain at the core of everything we do.
