Providing warm and welcoming homes for individuals and families across Gloucestershire

YMCA Cheltenham is one of the oldest and largest independent providers of specialised accommodation in the area. We provide more than 1,890 beds per week including supported accommodation for people affected by homelessness and those requiring a helping hand before living independently in the community, and affordable accommodation to single people in employment or further education.

We currently have properties in Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Cinderford, and are always looking for new ways to meet the ever-increasing demand for both supported and affordable accommodation.  With new properties opening in recent years, YMCA Cheltenham is proactive in preparing for tomorrow’s needs today.

“Our Housing team is made up of people who provide a lifeline for homeless individuals and families seeking a better future. The staff show great dedication & flexibility in supporting residents at various sites across Cheltenham & Gloucester. Their commitment allows for residents to feel valued & respected whilst guiding them to make the right choices going forward. This work is carried out with empathy, care and professionalism and helps to create an environment where people can develop & thrive.” – John Ingles – Head of Housing, Policy & Performance

THE PATHWAY HOME

A Person Centred Approach to Supported Housing

At YMCA Cheltenham, we believe everyone should have a safe place to stay.  Our PATHWAY HOME model puts that belief into practice, offering a fully person-centred approach that supports residents to become tenancy-ready, economically independent, and socially connected. The PATHWAY HOME model is unique to YMCA Cheltenham, it is designed and delivered by our experienced housing team.

PATHWAY HOME is about creating lasting change. Through tailored support and a strong focus on personal development, residents are better equipped to move on positively, with access to resources, meaningful opportunities, and a reduced risk of repeat homelessness.

In 2023–2024, we saw 82% of residents move on positively. This reflects both the strength of the PATHWAY HOME model and the dedication of our Housing Teams, who work tirelessly to help every resident belong, contribute and thrive.
