The role is 37.5 hours a week, working on a rota basis and with a rota for weekend work.
The salary is between £23,900 per annum and £27,809 per annum. The salary is dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
ABOUT YOU
We are inviting applications for the role of Senior Support Worker based at Vittoria Walk, Cheltenham.
To be successful in this role, you should have recent experience in supervising a team, preferably within the supported housing sector. You will have the ability to motivate people, be organised, able to meet deadlines, be able to communicate effectively, be tactful and diplomatic, be attentive to detail, have good problem-solving skills, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

YMCA Cheltenham, founded in 1855, is a registered charity and has become a leading provider of supported housing in the area, alongside other works including the provision of sports facilities, affordable housing and other charitable activities.
Since 2014 we have grown from having just one supported housing project of 50 beds to being able to offer hundreds of beds every night, including long-term affordable accommodation, low to high-level supported accommodation, and emergency homeless provision in Cheltenham and Gloucester.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Support Worker will supervise a team of Support Workers, to support the most vulnerable and excluded in society, to move from a place of personal risk and vulnerability, to a place of personal resilience and independence.
The Senior Support Worker will report to the Housing Manager, in supporting residents on their journey through Vittoria Walk to move on accommodation, which will be different for each resident.
The Senior Support Worker will:
- Supervise & guide staff in the provision of support at Vittoria Walk.
- Be able to provide cover for the Housing Manager in times of absence, to ensure that stakeholders, partners and commissioners are able to be informed of service outcomes as necessary.
- Be able to provide information and operational insight to the Head of Operations, other members of the Senior Leadership Team or the CEO, if required to ensure they are kept informed of service outcomes.
- Provide cover for support workers in times of absence, to ensure service provision is maintained.
- Provide supervisory functions for a team of support workers, in relation to all HR matters and requirements of the organisation.
ABOUT WHAT WE OFFER
We offer a salary for this position of between £23,900 per annum and £27,809 per annum, working 37.5 hours on a shift pattern, which includes working evenings and weekends.
The salary is dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.
