YMCA Cheltenham Vittoria Walk

Supported accommodation in the centre of Cheltenham

Our flagship £4.1m supported accommodation building in the centre of Cheltenham welcomed its first residents in  2014, and was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal in July 2015. We are extremely grateful for the support of the Homes & Communities Agency, local and national charitable trusts and foundations, and to YMCA members, supporters, staff and volunteers, all of whom worked with us, donating their time, financial and prayer support, to make this dream a reality.

Vittoria Walk in Cheltenham is YMCA’s largest property with 73 rooms accommodating those aged from 16 years of age and above, in need of low to high level support which can include substance misuse, mental health and other complex needs.

The purpose-built accommodation operates a 24-hour service and is built over three floors providing a range of high quality accommodation options which include self-contained flats and ensuite rooms, with rooms on the ground floor also including wheelchair access and adaptations for individuals with physical disabilities. Each floor has its own communal kitchen with social space.

The service delivers a mix of provision and made up of 4 parts: 7 rooms of 16 year-old+ High Support provision, 28 rooms of 18 year-old+ High Support provision, 32 rooms for delivering Intensive Housing Management support, and 6 rooms we provide to P3 for their Somewhere Safe to Stay contract.

Individual support

Each person who becomes a resident at Vittoria Walk is assigned a Support Worker who works closely with that person to encourage engagement and provide support to them as part of a pathway towards independence and a positive future.
